Welcome to the Dining Experience! This is where I give you
info on a new restaurant every Friday and you will some day go to these great
places and enjoy delicious eats!
Yojie Japanese Fondue considers itself as one of the
pioneers for Shabu Shabu restaurants in the surrounding areas. Located in
Diamond Bar, Artesia and Los Angeles, California. Each location prides itself
in being an art gallery and dining experience all in one. You can feel the
modern vibe as soon as you walk in. Staff is friendly, and any questions you
may have before hand such as “how the hell do I eat this?” luckily for you,
their staff will explain any questions you may have while dining here.
Shabu Shabu
I have to cook the food myself? Raw ingredients? What the
hell is Sukiyaki? Swishing?
So here’s the thing, Shabu Shabu is like Korean BBQ, you
cook the food yourself but instead of a grill you have a hot pot of soup to
cook all your food in. Some places are a fusion place and offer different types
of soup bases such as Thai Curry or Spicy Mongolian Herbal. Yojie offers
traditional Shabu Shabu, Sukiyaki and Spicy Miso. Each soup is paired well with
the different meats they offer. Just ask the staff for some more info and they
will tell you that the Spicy Miso is excellent with the pork and if your
vegetarian the Sukiyaki is perfectly paired with the veggie option.
Order your meat, choose your sides, grab a drink, and choose
your soup. Easy steps, cook your meal, mix with your rice (brown available!)
and have a delicious, healthy meal cooked right in front of you.
The Wrap
Some might complain on the fact that they have to cook their
own meat. Sorry people, it might not seem like the most ideal thing but it’s a
cultural way of eating this type of dish. You have Japanese ingredients with premium
cuts of different meats mixed with veggies and rice. Easy combination of a
balanced meal and the soup that you cook your food in makes the meal. Spicy
Miso is where it’s at in my opinion. Nothing like a little kick with each bite
and having the sauces on the side to dip in are fantastic. The Sukiyaki has its
own flavor, just a bit more sweet than the regular Shabu Shabu broth. Kid
friendly and a bar to accompany you and your party, head to one of the
following locations to experience what Shabu Shabu is about. Need any
recommendations for some in your other areas? Have any recommendations? Send us
